| 香豆素 coumarin 一大类衍生物的母体 。分子式C9H6O2。以与葡萄糖结合的形式存在于圭亚那黑香豆中，也存在于甜苜蓿和其他植物中。无色棱状晶体，具有新割干草的特有气味。熔点71℃，沸点301.7℃，相对密度0.935（20／4℃）。溶于乙醇、氯仿、乙醚，不溶于水，较易溶于热水。香豆素的衍生物有些存在于自然界，有些则可通过合成方法制得；有的游离存在，有的与葡萄糖结合在一起，其中不少具有重要经济价值。例如双香豆素，其学名为3，3′-亚甲基-双(4-羟基香豆素)，过去由甜苜蓿植物腐败析出，现在用人工合成，可用作抗凝血剂。异香豆素是香豆素的同分异构体。板状晶体。溶点47℃，沸点285～286℃（719毫米汞柱）；可以水蒸气蒸馏。以异香豆素为母体也构成一大类衍生物，有些具有生理活性。香豆素可用于制造香料，也是制造多种其他化学品的基本原料。在镀锌（或镉、镍）的电镀液中加入香豆素，可减少镀层起孔，增加光亮度。
