昆虫或多细胞寄生物寄居在寄主的皮肤、粘膜表面或其附属器上，持续地侵扰寄主的现象。如头虱侵染了头发或蠕虫寄居肠道而不引起症状的现象。侵染一词来源于拉丁语infestare，意为袭击，含有经常侵扰之意。
