Pingdingshan Coal Basin
平顶山煤田(Pingdingshan Coal Basin)中国第三大煤炭生产基地。位于河南省中部平顶山市。京广、焦枝铁路由东西两侧通过，孟宝铁路横穿矿区。煤系地层属石炭二叠纪，含煤面积650km2，主要可采煤层有10层，总厚15一18m。煤田地质构造比较简单，储量75亿t，加90年末保有探明储量24.86亿t，以焦煤、肥煤为主，有少量气煤。平顶山矿区是50年代开发的新矿区。1952年开始勘探，1955年开始建设，1957年出煤，1975年原煤产量突破1000万t。1991年有14个矿井，生产原煤1 689万t，是中国第3大矿区。炼焦煤主要供应武钢，部分供应湘潭、鄂城、安阳等钢铁企业和上海等地焦化厂，动力煤供应附近及湖北电厂。 (贾勤修)
