补充资料:大悟山反"扫荡"
1942年12月中旬,日军第 3、第58师团和伪军第12师各一部共万余人,秘密集结于平汉铁路广水至花园段和河口至长轩岭一线,分14路向大悟山区进行"铁壁合围",企图消灭新四军第5师的主力,摧毁这一地区的抗日根据地。17日,日伪军开始围攻。当日,根据地领导机关和第5师主力部队共8000余人,在师长李先念指挥下,成多路向平汉铁路以西之安陆、应山和平汉铁路以东的黄安(今红安)、黄陂以南的外线地区转移,留 2个营结合地方武装在内线分散游击,钳制日伪军。尔后,内外线密切配合,不断袭击日伪军,迫使其于18日黄昏向平汉铁路和黄安至麻城公路撤退。此次反"扫荡"共歼敌200余人,粉碎了日伪军合围企图,巩固了大悟山为中心的抗日根据地。
