| 海星 Asteroidea；sea-star 棘皮动物门海星纲的通称。体扁平，多呈星形。口在下边中央。从体盘伸出腕，腕数一般为5个。腕内充有生殖腺和消化腺。腕下面有开放的步带沟与口相通，沟内具有4行或2行管足，是行动器官，多数末端具吸盘。整个身体由许多钙质骨板借结缔组织结合而成，体表有突出的棘、瘤或疣等附属物。世界现存1600种，中国已知100多种。雌雄异体。生殖细胞释放到海水中受精。海星类分布于世界各海，以北太平洋区域种类最多。垂直分布从潮间带到水深6000米，生活在各种底质，但软泥底上很少见。海星食性种间差异较大，在种内也有区别。
海星纲分为5个目：平腕海星目、显带目、有棘目、真海星目和钳棘目。 最普通的海盘车以大型双壳类为食，故对贝类养殖业危害很大。中国黄海有的海区海星数量很多，渔民常把海星用来做肥料，肥效甚高。辽宁省利用海星制胃药。 |
