【性状】
本品为蝶形薄片，除基部外三面延长成宽大菲薄的翅。长5～8cm，宽3.5 ～4.5cm。表面浅黄白色，翅半透明，有绢丝样光泽，上有放射状纹理，边缘多破裂。体 轻，剥去种皮，可见一层薄膜状的胚乳紧裹于子叶之外。子叶2 ，蝶形，黄绿色或黄色， 长径1～1.5cm。无臭，味微苦。
【鉴别】
(1) 本品粉末黄色或黄绿色。种翅细胞长纤维状，壁波状增厚，直径20 ～40μｍ；胚乳细胞多角形，壁呈念珠状增厚。 (2) 取本品粉末2g，加乙醇30ml，加热回流15分钟，滤过，滤液加硼酸0.5g使溶解 ，滤过，滤液作为供试品溶液。另取黄芩苷对照品，加乙醇制成每1ml含1mg的溶液，作 为对照品溶液。照薄层色谱法（附录Ⅵ B）试验，吸取上述两种溶液各10μl,分别点于 同一硅胶Ｇ薄层板上，以正丁醇－醋酸－水(6:1.5:2.5) 为展开剂，展开，取出，晾干 。供试品色谱中，在与对照品色谱相应的位置上，显相同颜色的斑点。
【性味与归经】
苦、甘，凉。归肺、肝、胃经。
【功能与主治】
清肺利咽，疏肝和胃。用于肺热咳嗽，喉痹，音哑，肝胃气痛。
【用法与用量】
1. 5～3g。

置通风干燥处。
