booyud一ooeho暴雨调查(storm investigation)对早期出现过的和近年发生的特大暴雨的调查工作。目的是弥补雨量站网观测资料不足和延长暴雨资料系列。暴雨调查是水文调查工作中一项重要内容，对于设计暴雨计算、设计洪水分析及其成果合理性的论证有重要作用。规划设计中经常采用的年最大暴雨频率等值线图，编制时便采用了暴雨调查资料。暴雨调查内容一般包括暴雨量、强度、过程、暴雨中心位置、雨前及当时天气形势、地面天气状况以及灾害情况等。调查方法主要是访问、考察、查勘、测量、向有关单位搜集各种历史文献资料和前人调查记录和分析研究报告。中国近年来对早期出现过的大暴雨，如辽宁西部1930年8月大暴雨及长江中游1935年7月特大暴雨，进行了大量调查工作，提出分析报告.并绘制了暴雨等值线图。对当年发生的大暴雨及时进行调查，不仅可以弥补现有雨量站实测资料的不足，还可以通过分析、比较，发现和纠正观测资料中的问题，核实数据。1977年陕西、内蒙古交界处罕见的大暴雨，17h中心雨量为平均年雨量的3倍，经过调查发现暴雨中心雨量站的记录偏小甚多。1975年8月淮河大暴雨经调查后.也订正了279个测站部分有问题的资料。
