Synthesis of two disubstituted benzocrown ether;

Benzene ring in benzocrown ether has electron receptor effect can reduce complex ability to metal ions because of weakling the basicity of crown ether.

In this thesis, a series of benzo-crown ethers with substitutes of thiourea, urea and amide as artificial receptors to inorganic ion-pair were synthesized and their binding properities with a variety of inorganic salts were studied.
