九头崖自然风景区是石漫滩国家森林公园的主要景区之一。它始建于 1993 年元月。前国防部部长张爱萍将军为风景区亲笔题词 --" 石漫滩国家森林公园九头崖自然风景区 " 。九头崖自然风景区地理位置优越、交通便利、它位于河南舞钢市东南部、东距 107 国道 17 公里 ，西距许泌公路 5 公里 ，北距舞钢市汽车站 9 公里 、漯舞铁路火车站 12 公里 。九头崖自然风景区东与碴岈山景区隔山相望、北与石漫滩水库依水相连，总面积 50 多平方公里，山门工程于 1994 年 4 月动工， 6 月建成，修筑道路，山门共投资人民币 69 万元。
相传九头崖是修道成仙的九头大鹏鸟的化身，九座山峰自西向东一字排开，簇拥而立，直插青天。
景区内有128个景点27处古迹，8洞2泉。这里山峰险峻，林木葱郁，溪水清澈见底，溪畔彩蝶纷飞，百洞岩洞洞相连，九头崖佛光扑朔迷离。
九头崖十七瀑、隐龙瀑布、滴水崖瀑布，或娇柔含情或惊涛咆哮。蝴蝶溪、情人溪、梦台溪，沿山环绕；牛心泉、豹子泉、文曲泉、碧波潭，错落有致；哑巴洞、神仙洞、对眼洞、送子洞神话传说，引人入胜。
金枪洞、双龙洞、青龙洞、龙王洞其历史古迹依稀可见；少女梳妆、和尚骑骆驼、抱儿盼夫、鸳鸯龟造型逼真，惟妙惟肖。到此一游，登山则险象环生，平走则绿树成荫，临峰可观怪石奇洞，入林能闻鸟语花香，这里是您携家人、友人、恋人寻幽探险、猎奇览胜、享受野情异趣的理想去处。
