The discovery of the fossil species has provided evidence for division of the time-stratigraphic units and basic information for detailed research of the framework and evolution of stratigraphic sequence in microcontinent with fresh-water,which fills the gap of the deficiency of the Early Carboniferous strata in Chalukou area.
该生物化石的取得,为该套地层时代划分提供了依据,填补了岔路口地区缺失早石炭世地层的空白,为进一步详细研究甜水海微陆块地层层序格架及地层演化,提供了新的基础资料。

三岔堡 在山西省五寨县北六十里，明嘉靖十八年筑，以东达神池，西通岢岚，北向偏关，当三路之冲，故名。抗日战争时期，日寇盘踞这里六年之久，是日寇突入我二分区腹地的重要据点，1945年4月12日解放。
