性质:又名韦氏梭菌(C. welchii),梭菌属(Clostridium)中的一个种。是气性坏疽(食物中毒的一种形式)和羔羊痢疾的病原菌。不运动。许多菌株有荚膜。次极末端形成一个卵圆形芽孢。可分解蛋白质、糖、水解明胶。能发酵葡萄糖、麦芽糖、乳糖、蔗糖产生醋酸和酪酸。根据产生的毒素或胞外酶,产气荚膜梭菌可分为A、B、C、D、E五种型。A型菌株是食物中毒、气性坏疽的病原菌。B型菌株是羔羊痢疾病原菌。C型菌株是人、羊出血性肠炎病原菌。D型菌株是反刍动物肾脏病病原菌。E型菌株是反刍动物疾病病原菌。
