形态特征子实体较小，其形态近似长裙竹荪。菌盖近钟形，高2.5-3.5cm，宽2.5-3cm，薄而脆，具网格，有一层褐青色粘液即孢体。菌裙白色，长，网格呈多角形。菌柄较长，海绵质，白色，长9-15cm，粗2-3cm。菌托白色或浅灰色，后期渐呈褐色或稍深，具柔软的刺状突起，初白色后失水或光照而色变深，其下面有无数须根状菌索，伤处不变色。初期托包裹时呈球形或卵圆形，直径2-3cm。担子圆筒形或棒状，6-8μm×2.5-3.5μm，具4-6个小梗。孢子无色透明，呈椭圆形，3.5-4μm×2-2.3μm。

生态习性生长期6-9月，以7-8月为生长高峰。生于竹及其混交林中，以半腐朽的竹木等废料为基物。
分布地区此种发现于湖南西南与贵州接壤地区
经济用途可食用亦能人工栽培，生料周期20-120天，菌蕾分化到长成子实18-22天。要求相对湿度85左右，子实体生长周期相对湿度为95以上。此菌被视为高湿型栽培竹荪。(文、图根据《中国食用菌》1988，第3期)
