多年生草本,高60-150厘米。茎单一,直立,疏被蛛丝状毛或无毛。基生叶及茎下部叶花期枯萎;茎生叶无柄,多数,较密集,卵状长圆形或长圆形,长8-10(15)厘米,宽4-6厘米,羽状深裂,裂片线形或狭披针形,长1-2厘米,宽2-5毫米,先端尖,侧裂片通常6对;茎上部叶长圆状披针形,羽状分裂,最上部叶线形。头伏花序径1.5-2厘米,多数,排列成伞房状,花序梗密被白色蛛丝状绵毛,总苞半球形,长约5毫米,径6-8毫米,基部有小苞片,线形,长3.5毫米,总苞片1层,长圆形,先端长锐尖,边缘宽膜质,被短毛或无毛,边花10-15,舌状,长10-15毫米,宽1-2毫米,深黄色,中央花管状。瘦果长圆形,长2-2.5毫米,无毛,有肋;冠白污白色,糙毛状。花期8-9月,果期9-10月。
生于灌丛、林缘、山坡草地、河岸湿地及撂荒地。分布于我国东北、华北,朝鲜、日本、俄罗斯(西伯利亚)也有分布。
