长尾雉（changweizhi）（Syrmaticus）脊椎动物，鸟纲，雉科，长尾雉属的各种鸟的通称。长尾雉是我国的特产鸟，共有4种。
其中较为常见的为白冠长尾雉（Syrmati-cusreevesii），俗称“长尾野鸡”，又叫“地鸡”。身体大小近似野鸡，但尾羽极长。雄鸟的尾羽长约1.2～2.0米，羽色绚丽。上体棕黄色，有红、白、黑、褐等色斑纹；雌鸟尾羽短，长度仅有雄鸟的1/3。头和颈部白色，但在两眼间和头顶后方围有1道黑圈。在我国中部及北部的山区为留鸟，终年栖息在海拔500～1000米的山地稀疏阔叶林中，清晨开始活动，晚上在树上过夜。食坚果、浆果和种子。一般不鸣叫，在地面茅草丛中筑简单的巢，产卵育雏。窝有卵8～10枚。雄鸟尾羽中最长的两根，常被选做京剧武将演员头盔上的装饰品。因数量稀少，已被列为国家二级保护动物。其他3种长尾雉为白颈长尾雉（Syrmaticusellioti）、黑颈长尾雉（Syrmaticushu-miae）和黑长尾雉（Syrmaticusmikado），由于数量极少，已被列为国家一级保护动物。
