| 胡桃科 Juglandaceae 双子叶植物纲金缕梅亚纲的一科。落叶或半常绿或常绿乔木，羽状复叶，无托叶。花单性，雌雄同株；雄花序常为柔荑状，单生或数条成束生；雌花序穗状或稀柔荑状；雄花生于1枚不分裂或3裂的苞片腋内，通常具2小苞片或1～4枚花被片，雄蕊3～40枚插生在花托上；雌花具2小苞片和2～4枚花被片贴生于子房，子房由2心皮合生；果实为假核果或坚果。该科共9属72种，间断分布在欧亚和美洲，以中国南部至中南半岛和美国南部至中美洲种类最多。它是一个北温带科，但对亚热带和热带气候有广泛的适应性。中国产7属29种，大多数种分布于长江以南的低山到中山地带的山地森林中或河谷两旁，少数种分布到北部。该科分2亚科：①化香树亚科。仅有化香树属1属，分布东亚。②胡桃亚科。分为黄杞族、胡桃族和山核桃族。
该科代表种有：黄杞、化香树、枫杨、青钱柳、胡桃、山核桃等。 |
