这是液HeⅡ的一种热机械效应。放在液HeⅡ池中两端开口的U形管内填上金刚砂粉末,两边开口处用棉花塞上,但左边有一开口的毛细管,上部露出池面,这样的通道只有超流部分可通过。若U管下部一边加热,如用光辐照,则该处的超流浓度ρs要减小,造成与U管内另一边的超流成分的浓度差,超流成分形成向温度高的方向流动以填补浓度之差,被辐照一边的压力增大,超流液氦就从毛细管上端开口处喷出,可高达30厘米。这现象称喷泉效应。
