By analyzing the existing problems in Beijing Road Commercial Pedestrian District,this study puts forward the urban design strategy of integrating the space,culture and traffic system in an attempt to construct a public space with regional characteristics,historic and cultural atmosphere,superior business environment and public facilities.
通过对北京路商业步行街区现状存在的问题进行系统的分析,提出了空间、文化、交通多重耦合的城市设计策略,试图塑造地域特色鲜明、历史气息浓厚、商业环境优越、公共设施完善的城市公共空间。

比起其他繁华的街道，被誉为“中华文化第一街”的福州路，上海书城(北海路口）、古籍书店（近福建南路）、外文书店（近山西南路）、科技书店（河南中路口）的浓郁书香气息更叫人留恋止步。
1846年，一批由国人创办或从境外流入的书店相继开业，福州路成为上海区域文化的源头，也影响着中华文化的发展和进步。1897年，商务印书馆的开业，标志着中国近代出版业的崛起。不久，随着专门介绍西方社会科学、自然科学等书店的大量涌现，福州路文化街初具规模。经过建国以来五十多年的建设，福州路已经以中华文化第一街的名声响誉全球了。
