| 孔尚任（1648～1718） 中国清代戏曲作家。字聘之，又字季重，号东塘，别号岸堂，自署云亭山人。山东曲阜人。孔子六十四代孙。青年时隐居石门山读书 ，后 纳 捐为国子监生 。康 熙 二十三 年 (1684)，康熙帝南巡返经曲阜，孔尚任被荐去御前讲经，甚得赏识，破格录用，次年入京为国子监博士。二十五年随工部侍 郎孙在丰往扬州治河湖海三年。回京后迁户部主事，升户部广东司员外郎。三十八年六月，《桃花扇》历经10余年惨淡经营，三易其稿始成。次年即遭罢官。关于孔尚任的罢官原因，后世学者看法不一：有人认为因《桃花扇》的思想内容为清廷所忌而惹祸；有人认为被诬卷入了贪污案件而去职。孔尚任除代表作《桃花扇》之外，还与顾彩合撰《小忽雷》传奇，描写唐代梁厚本与郑盈盈的爱情故事，鞭笞暴虐骄横的权奸，痛斥趋炎附势的小人，主题思想与《桃花扇》一脉相承。孔尚任还著有《石门山集》、《湖海集》、《岸堂集》、《出山异数记》、《人瑞录》等。今人汪蔚林辑有《孔尚任诗文集》。
