在怒语的食谱中，"阿表"是一个最常见的名称，译成汉语就是荞砂饭。这是生活在福贡等地的怒族人民最喜欢的食物。它不仅适合老人和病人食用，也常被用来招待客人。
加工荞砂饭有下列程序。先把甜荞籽洗净，放人锅内，加水煮一段时间，等到荞籽的外壳裂开时，捞出沥水，晾干。放到碓里加上适量的温水舂一下，使外皮和内粒分离开。然后用筛子筛去外皮，就成了荞米砂，可下锅煮食。如果不立即食用，也可以晒干存放。
煮荞砂饭时，只需在锅里加上适当的水焖干即可，也有的人在养中掺一点包谷砂，煮出来的饭不仅兼有包谷和养的香味，而且在颜色上也令人赏心悦目。在有条件的人家，还会用鸡肉与之配莱，则荞砂饭更加可口。
其实荞砂饭还有很多吃法。例如先用养砂和青菜混合做成干饭，再把辣椒、核桃、姜、盐等佐料混合舂成面，加水泡饭，怒族人叫它为"辣子泡饭"。
还有的人家把养和蔬菜混合做成"阿麦义"(意为稀饭)，再加上漆油和盐，吃起来另有一番风味。
荞砂米饭不仅松软可口，而且还能增进食欲，帮助消化，对降低血糖，美容也有明显的功效。
