一种提高电力系统暂态稳定性的控制措施。它是具有快速电液调速系统的汽轮发电机组过速保护的一种发展。当检测出发电机电功率变化及电功率与原动机输入功率差额达到某一事先设定的数值后，即控制中压汽缸前的中间阀门,使之快速关闭，然后再逐渐打开,由于减小了原动机输入功率和发电机输出功率之间的差额，可以有效地提高电力系统的暂态稳定性。
经特殊设计、制造出来的中间阀门,可以在0.1～0.2秒内从全开到全关，它大约可以减少总的原动机输入功率的70％。但是由于检测及控制回路的时滞，中间阀门后原有蒸汽膨胀产生的能量,大约要经过0.4～0.5秒,才能使输入功率减少到原有功率的35％。虽然如此，汽门快速控制仍然能明显地提高电力系统的暂态稳定性。
为了使汽门快关的程度与故障严重程度相配合，目前正在发展快速响应的汽门关闭及开启的液压装置，并正在开展与计算机在线控制相结合的控制措施。
