一种新型的X线检查技术。由四个部分组成，即X线机、扫描探测仪、电子计算机和显影装置。其原理是当人体各组织器官受X线照射时，因其密度不同所吸收的X线不同，因此通过人体到达扫描探测仪的X线量不一，探测仪将不同数据输入电子计算机加工处理，即可将人体各组织不同密度用数据表示出来，然后将这些数字再组成像素，大量密度不同的像素即可描绘出组织结构的影像，经电视机显示或摄片记录，可清晰显示组织内早期细小病变。并能做到定位、定性及显示病变的范围。这些特点为其它X线检查方法所不及，是当代X线工作中的重要进展。
