The result shows that the content of moisture, chlorophyll, total carbohydrate, reducting sugar and protein are lower in vitrified shoots compared with ordinary shoots regenerated in vitro, and the activity of peroxidase is increased, whereas the activity of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase is decreased in vitrified shoots.
