		红碱淖位于陕北神木县尔林兔镇,与内蒙古伊克昭盟接壤,是本地区最大的一个沙漠盆湖,当地称为海子。
红碱淖湖水面积约36000公顷,最大水深15米,蓄水8亿立方米,是陕西最大的内陆湖泊。烟波浩淼,风光旖旎。湖水含盐度为3.5%,适宜发展养殖业。湖西5公里有面积达66666.7公顷的天然草原牧场,水草丰盛,牛羊成群。湖中盛产鲜鱼,湖滨宜林牧,整个湖区空气清新,环境宜人,是避暑度假的好地方。
