内蒙古最大的内流河之一。古称冗鲁骨、乌尔虎、芦河。发源于大兴安岭西侧的宝格达山，向西南流至胡稍庙，然后折东西向，至新庙以西，河槽逐渐消失。形成大片湿地和湖泊，最终注入乌珠穆沁盆地最低处索里诺尔大洼地。主要支流有舍野日机河、宝日斯太河、 彦吉嘎河、高力罕河、巴拉盖尔河。主要流经锡林郭勒盟的东乌珠穆沁旗、西乌珠穆沁旗。
