| 咸宁市 位于中国湖北省东南部。面积1502平方千米。人口45.65万，以汉族为主 。唐大历二年(767)置永安镇。五代吴乾贞三年（928）改镇为场 。南唐保大十二年(954)置永安镇。北宋景德四年（1007）以避讳改称咸宁县。取“万国咸宁”之意。1983年设立咸宁市。矿藏有煤、钒、铁、白云岩、大理石等。盛产桂花、楠竹、苎麻、茶叶等。“黄荆皮”苎麻和“剑春茶”、“浮泉茶”为优良产品，以轻纺和加工工业为龙头的经济格局正在形成。境内有温泉区，风景秀丽，医疗价值高，还有汀泗桥、桃花洞等名胜古迹。 |
