【地展预防】地震是由于地壳发生急剧的震动，形成地面的断裂和变形，引起建筑物倒塌和损坏，造成人身伤亡及大量社会物质损失的瞬时剧变的地质现象。对地震的预防，首先是对地基的选择、基础抗震处理、房屋抗震结构、建筑材料选择、施工技术等都要按抗震结构设计的标准来设计。其次，对地震基础知识如地震产生的原因、地震的震极、裂度、破坏程度、人的感觉及危害程度、地震前的预兆进行宣传。最后，设计并练习在地震前后人们应如何因地制宜采取应急措施。
