虞山琴派开创人物严澂编订《松弦馆琴谱》，倡导“清微淡远”琴风，对于纠正当时琴坛滥制琴歌的风气，起到了正本清源的作用，但也有一定的局限性，稍后的徐上瀛编订的《大还阁琴谱》及其《溪山琴况》，在继承严氏琴学的同时，从理论到实践都作了进一步的补充与修正，从而使虞山琴学得以“臻于大雅”，并为后世琴家奉为正宗。

| 吴大澂(1835～1902) 中国清末金石学家，古文字学家。字止敬、清卿，号恒轩，别号愙斋、白云山樵。江苏吴县人。道光十五年生，光绪二十八年卒。进士出身，官至广东、湖南巡抚。中日甲午战争中兵败革职。吴收藏古物甚丰，研究金石文字善于将实物与文献相对照。著有集录铜器铭文拓本的《愙斋集古录》，收录、考订古器物文字资料的《说文古籀补》，以及《恒轩所见所藏吉金录》、《古玉图考》等。 |
