日本诗人。原名樋口国登，号黄眠、沟五位、石上好古等，生于长野县。毕业于早稻田大学英文科。在大学时和西条八十等创办同人杂志《圣杯》（后改为《假面具》），开始写诗。第一部诗集《转变颂》于1917年出版，以第二部诗集《黑衣圣母》(1921)成名。1921至1945年在早稻田大学教授英国文学，并写了《古风之月》(1922)、《咒文》(1933)等诗。他的诗采用象征手法和汉语式的句法，吟咏神秘幻想的主题，技巧独特，想象奇异，但晦涩难读，具有浪漫的神秘主义风格。他认为洗练、艺术性是文学的本质。自称其诗为"哥特式浪漫诗体"，倾向于艺术至上主义。以研究英国诗人济慈的论文《美乃司祭》(1925)得文学博士学位。曾任《奢霸都》、《万神殿》、《游牧记》等杂志总编。译有《王尔德诗集》(1920)、《英国神秘诗抄》(1922)等。评著有获读卖文学奖的《明治大正诗史》(1929)、《晚近三代文学品题》(1941)和《明治浪漫文学史》（1951）。1952年因在诗歌创作上的成就获艺术院奖。
