| 业余教育 continuation education 对工人、农民、士兵、干部、教师以及其他社会成员在生产和工作的剩余时间所进行的教育。实施机构有业余初等学校、业余中学、业余中等专业学校和业余高等学校（夜大学、函授大学、广播电视大学等）。修业年限从几周至几年不等。教学形式有面授、函授、广播、电视、自学考试等。对象主要是成人，有时又称为成人教育。 1951年10月中国确定了各种形式的干部学校 、补习学校、训练班的地位，明确了对业余初等学校和业余中学的各项要求。广大城乡地区因地制宜，按照不同对象的不同要求，对工人、农民和各种在职人员进行业余教育或培训，举办了从小学、中学、中专到大专的各级各类业余学校，创立了较完整的业余教育制度。许多地区和中央业务部门还创办各种脱产或半脱产培训干部的学院。1981年起实行高等教育自学考试办法。 西方国家从19世纪开始推行业余教育。各国盛行的业余教育方式有：自我支配时间的学习；工读交替制学习；各种夜校、短期训练班、暑期学习班；函授学校、职业补习学校、电视中心、电视大学、开放大学、计算机辅助等等。 |
