Due to sluggish ability to listen and speak for students majoring in Japanese in vocational colleges,Japanese teaching shall pay more attention to listening by thinking to follow,carrying out intensive listening and reading so as for students to adapt to Japanese thinking and expressions and improve their listening and speaking abilities.

Based on quantitativeanalysis, this paper explores the learning strategies of how to improve dictation competence from the perspectives ofmotivation, phonetics and intensive listening training.

College English teachers should guide students to find the breakthrough points in English listening by way of enlarging vocabulary and combine intensive listening in class with extensive listening after class to develop their English listening comprehension abilities efficiently.

Listening is one of the important communicative skills and also the important way of language input and information acqusistion To improve listening ability of the students, according to the listening principle, “Intensive listening” combines with “ Extensive listening”, using strict methods to train the students, exploring the useful way to improve the listening skill of the students.

This article suggests that listening should be improved from these following aspects : situation, pronunciation, vocabulary, training skills, enriching the social culture, intensive and comprehensive listening, etc.
