Through a study of the available historical documents and an analysis of the Yongchang Road and the Rinan Road which the envoys of the Shan State took, the author has reached the following conclusion that the Shan State was a small or medium-size state in the Tianzhu Kingdom on the Indian Subcontinent.
本文从掸国所走的永昌道、日南道路线入手,结合中外史料,经过初步研究,认为掸国是印度次大陆上天竺国中的一个中、小国家。

棉湖永昌古庙位于棉湖镇北爷门，是由玄天古庙、云湖庵和云境庵组成的庵群，占地面积1321平方米。古庙建于宋代，庙供奉北极真武玄天上帝，庵供奉娑婆三圣。壁嵌成片清代精工立体石浮雕60幅，天盘倒吊藻井里外三层通花金漆木雕，构刻精致，小巧玲珑，乃省内稀有的二个清代庙宇藻井之一。该庙是处千年木雕精品。是粤东地区仅有古迹，又称“北阙佛光”。
