【来源】
为姜科植物艳山姜的种子。
【植物形态】
艳山姜 多年生常绿草本，高达2～3米。根肥大。叶大，互生，长椭圆状披针形，长30～70厘米，宽7～16厘米，先端短渐尖，边缘有短而密的粗毛。圆锥花序顶生，常下弯，长15～30厘米；总轴和子房密被淡黄色粗毛；小苞片大，长约2.5厘米，纵裂，白色而稍染粉红，但顶端和基部均粉红；花具短柄；萼阔，钟形，一边开裂；花冠白色，管长约1厘米，裂片阔椭圆形，最大的长约3厘米，先端粉红；唇瓣阔卵形，长和宽约4厘米，中部杂以红色和黄色，边内弯。蒴果红色，球形，径约2厘米；内有3个种子团，含种子多数。花期春夏。 生于山谷或溪边。分布广东、广西、福建、云南、贵州等地。

七、八月采收种子，晒干。

【功用主治】
广州部队《常用中草药手册》："燥湿祛寒，除痰截疟，健脾暖胃。治心腹冷痛，胸腹胀满，痰湿积滞，消化不良，呕吐腹泻。"

内服：煎汤，2～3钱；或入散剂。
