Generally speaking, the sea-lane in the former period started off from Penglai at northen Dengzhou, the seaport in Huangxian county, and then took “the shipping route from Dengzhou to Koryo” recorded by Jia Dan; in the latter period, it stretched from Muping at soutern Dengzhou, the seaport in Wendeng county, then across Huanghai Sea, and finally to the Kore.
“登州海行入高丽道”是唐代重要的海上航道。

道州月岩
月岩在湖南道县城西20公里处。岩有东西两洞门,东洞门长65米,宽40米；西洞门长105米，宽60米，宛如城阙,状极雄伟森严。入洞数十步,敞若广庭，洞顶空能见天，日光直照洞内。月岩酷似月亮，自乐边看象上弦月,自西边看象下弦月,从洞中看，空顶之空圈宛如明月悬空。“月岩”由此得名。因东西两门贯通,又称“穿岩”。是为道州八景之一。明代地理学家徐霞客曾游此洞,并住宿洞内。他在《楚游日记》中把道州月岩列为“永南洞目”第一。
月岩系都宠岭山麓，周围一带属喀斯特地形，群峰挺拔,青嶂翠岱,酷似桂林山光。月岩内宽敞明亮，冬暖夏凉。洞壁怪石林立，有的象猫相逐，有的如龙蜿蜒，有的似龟蹒跚，有的若凤翱翔，景象十分迷人。满壁上灌木倒悬，千姿百态，野草蕃盛，郁郁葱葱。洞内有鸟类、蝙蝠不时飞来转去，鸣声唧唧，讨人喜爱。岩洞南壁有“仙人床”、石幔、“仙人靴”、“圣水”，北壁有“仙人田”、石笋等。
月岩距离北宋著名哲学家周敦颐故乡楼田村8华里。相传月岩曾为周敦颐读书、静养、“悟道”之处。岩内至今尚存自宋代以来骚人墨客摩岩碑刻四十余块。为省级文物保护单位。
