好莱坞10位拒绝为非美活动调查委员会作证的影界人士。美国国会众议院于1938年成立了非美活动调查委员会。第二次世界大战结束后，该委员会煽起了对共产主义运动的仇视和对进步人士的迫害。1947年秋，该委员会为了调查所谓"好莱坞电影业被共产党渗透的程度"而传讯了一大批好莱坞创作人员，其中有10人由于拒绝作证，不愿透露本人和周围熟人的政治身份而被华盛顿联邦法院以蔑视国会罪提起公诉，被判处最多一年的监禁和1000美元罚款，世称好莱坞十人案。这10位人士是：H.J.比伯曼（导演、制片人），E.德米特里克（导演），A.斯科特（作家、制片人）及编剧A.贝西、L.科尔、R.小拉德纳、J.H.劳森、A.马尔茨、S.奥尼茨、D.特朗博。这次政治大迫害除上述10人被监禁罚款之外，还有一大批电影艺术家、事业家和技术人才被好莱坞各公司列上黑名单而无法继续工作。有些人被迫离开美国到欧洲去拍影片，如C.福尔曼、J.洛塞、J.达辛，有些人改名换姓继续写作，有些人则被迫改行。这次政治迫害给好莱坞创作人员留下了深重的创伤。
