国际奥委会奥林匹克研究中心(IOC：0lympic StudiesCentre，OSC) 成立于1982年10月11日，设在国际奥委会洛桑总部奥林匹克博物馆内。 该中心负责管理博物馆中堪称世界之最的奥林匹克资料库。中心由4个部门组成：①文献部：提供查询历史博物馆与图书馆的信息通道，可查到有关奥运历史、国际奥委会及其成员、各届奥运会、奥运会竟设在奥林匹克博物馆内的国际奥委会奥林匹克研究中心赛项日的演变过程及顾拜旦等奥林匹克先驱者的著作。还有专题性的收藏物，如奥林匹克标志、媒体的作用、奥林匹克邮票等。大部分资料将送到因特网上。②图片部：藏有27万幅黑白与彩色照片，其中关于奥运会的照片约有10万幅。③声像与多媒体部：藏有1 3000小时的资料(可连续播放540天)；④档案部：藏有奥林匹克运动的文件、通信和卷宗。 奥林匹克研究中心与世界各地的奥林匹克学术团体和研究者存在广泛的联系，并举办一些学术讨论会。 该中心还实施一项针对青年学者的学术资助计划，以鼓励在奥林匹克历史、思想、奥运会对当代社会和文化的影响等方面的学术研究。在校的硕士生和博士生以及青年教师均可向中心提出申请，经专门的评审组批准后，可获资助，在该中心作为期3个月的学术研究。
