位于王母庙北的虎山公园，原来是小蓬莱，涧深幽景秀美，1956年建虎山水库，形成了一个山麓平湖。1960年在湖西畔建成了双束碑亭。湖东有因清乾隆皇帝曾在此射虎而得名的虎山。清人赵国麟《云月砚轩日记》载：“乾隆十三年三月初一，皇上下岱至东眼光殿前行围杀虎。”山巅原有眼光殿，祀眼光奶奶，民国年间毁。 1988年始建，1989年竣工开放，建成了以湖为中心创建虎山公园。湖西南是儿童游乐园，有石雕十二属相；北为由长廊相隔的游泳池；东为动物园，山巅建高阁与西北侧的梳洗亭相对，东北角望岳亭与西南隅鸳鸯亭相望。湖光山色与亭台楼阁相映生辉，使游人不觉沉醉其中。
