新四军在皖东北袭击日军所占怀远县城的战斗。1939年6月20日晚，新四军游击支队第2团徒涉黄河，袭击安徽省怀远县城，在占领龟山制高点后，以强烈火力向驻守该城的日军独立第13旅团一部射击。敌慌忙退至老西门庙内集结。新四军又以手榴弹猛袭。激战约两小时，毙敌数十名。6月25日，游击支队再度袭击怀远县城，进抵城西门后，恰逢日军巡查队50余人，当即以机枪扫射，毙敌甚多。同日，游击支队第2团一部夜袭怀远西南15里安乡伪军孙立春部，将其击溃，俘敌多名。
