The paper states the status quo for the bamboo-based panels product in China, and introduces primarily the processing and characteriststics of bamboo-mat and bamboo-curtain plywood, bamboo veneered plywood, bamboo floor plywood, etc.

Through the comparison of variousconstruction materials, the paper comes to the conclusion that bamboo-based panels are one ofprefabrication materials with great potential.

The suggestions on present situation and development for Chinese bamboo wood-based panel and equipments;

A review is presented of the current development stituation and existing problems of nonwood based panelsincluding agri-fiber board(strawboard),bamboo board and shrub board in China.

The structure and mechanical performances of bamboos were summarized,and the technical process,characteristics,and utilization of bamboo-based panels were expounded,which included the bamboo weaving plywood,the bamboo curtain plywood,the bamboo mat and curtain plywood,the bamboo plywood,the bamboo laminated plywood,the bamboo particle board,and the bamboo composite board.

As a kind of green-material,the bamboo-based panels afford a broad application prospect for our construction industry.
