The results indicate that:(1)Aluminum oxynitride spinel begins to oxidize at around 850 ℃ and proceeds severely around 1170 ℃;(2)Both MgO and MgAl 2 O 4 can form solid solution with AlON at about 1200 ℃,the latter being more reactive;the solid solution formation would help to restrain the oxidation of AlON.
