【利息率效应】亦称“凯恩斯效应。”由于利息率上升阻碍通货膨胀的加剧。根据凯恩斯的流动性偏好学说，通货膨胀发生后，假定货币供应量不变，那么货币的日常需求增加，而投机需求减少。由于后者同利息率存在反比例关系，投机用的货币减少将导致利息率上升，抑制投资，从而减少总需求，降低通货膨胀的压力。 凯恩斯效应忽略了利息并非纯粹的货币现象，而是平均利润的一部分，它取决于借贷资本的供求关系，并非决定于货币的供求。因此，上述单纯以提高利率、抽紧银根为主要内容的货币政策也就不能有效地抑制通货膨胀。
