形态特征子实体中等大，木栓质，无菌柄。菌盖平状而反卷，半圆形，复瓦状，1-4cm×1.5-10cm，厚2-15mm，锈褐色，浅朽叶色至浅粟色，无环带，有粗毛或粗糙。菌盖边缘薄锐，常呈黄色。菌肉浅锈黄色至锈褐色，厚3-10mm。菌管长2-6.5mm，罕有2-3层。管口咖啡色至浅烟色，每毫米6-8个。刚毛多，褐色，锥形，15-35μm×4.5-6μm。菌丝有色，不分枝或稀分枝，有横隔，无锁状连合，粗25-3μm。孢子无色、光滑，宽椭圆形至近球形，4-5μm×3.5-4μm。

生态习性生柳、栎、女真等阔叶树及柳杉等针叶树的腐木上。

经济用途属木腐菌。被侵害枯立木、倒木和伐木桩木材产生白色腐朽。药用有补脾、祛湿、健胃作用。对小白鼠肉瘤180的抑制率90，对艾氏癌的抑制率为60。常在木耳段木上出现，被视为“杂菌”。
