【植物形态】
波棱瓜 草质藤本。茎细长，攀援。叶互生，心状阔卵形，掌状浅裂，基部耳垂形，边缘有不规则细锯齿，上面绿色，下面淡绿色，两面均有细毛；叶柄细长，有毛；腋生卷须2～3裂。花大，黄色，单性异株；雄花序常2个生于一叶腋内，其1单花早落，另1个为总状花序；雌花单生于一极短的花序柄上；萼管长柱形，裂齿5，线形；花瓣5，近离生；雄蕊3；子房长椭圆形，3室，每室有胚珠4～6颗。果阔长椭圆形，两端均狭，有角3，有不规则波状棱脊，果瓣3，由中轴分裂几达基部。 生于林下。分布我国西南及西藏等地。
【采集】
9～10月采收，晒干。
【性味】
性寒，味苦。
【功用主治】
清热解毒，柔肝。治黄疸型传染性肝炎，消化不良。

内服：煎汤，1～3钱。
