1918年Dandy在直视下施行了脉络丛切除术。以后发展为脑室镜电凝术。手术适用于交通性脑积水。由双侧顶枕部开颅进入脑室，发现脉络丛后对脉络丛球Glomus的供应血管用银夹夹住或电凝，然后切除，目的为减少脑脊液的分泌。但其缺点有：①手术对小儿负担大，死亡率高，效果不明显；②烧灼后有热反应；③第三、第四脑室的脉络丛切除困难；④理论上脉络丛并非惟一的脑脊液分泌源。目前很少采用此法。
