Formation of freshwater lens in islands and evolution rules of the upconing

Using self-study model to simulate freshwater lens evolution at laboratory,it s formation process in the condition of rainfall has been simulated,the process of upconing movement has also been simulated without any recharge.

Relying on its excellent strength and stiffness,circular-shaped cover with a topsy-turvy cone is especially suitable for the end sealing of detachable spiral heat exchanger.

The results show that the main reasons are small back draught of the crystallizer,large level fluctuation,high degree of superheat of the tundish and the poor quality of the cooling water for the crystallizer.

In order to improve the using life of the mould, through constantly exploring in the production practice, the optimal back draught is determined, the mould structures such as water canal distributing, the water ring nozzles and so on are reconstructed, adopting low degree of superheat in pouring and using appropriate protecting slag, and then the mould life is increased from 316 to 774 heats.
