The experiment was carried out to study water consumption of tree-grass,shrub-grass and pure grass plant ecosystems using the principle of distributed soil water balance by monitoring the rainfall,soil water content,irrigation and soil water matrix potential.
针对目前研究中多关注某一单一植被类型的绿地水分利用和管理,较少实地研究植被组成更复杂的园林绿地复合生态系统的耗水规律的情况,该文通过对颐和园降雨、灌溉、土壤含水量和土壤基质势等指标的实地、原位、多点监测,利用分布式水量平衡基本原理,初步研究了乔草、灌草和纯草3种园林绿地系统的水分消耗规律。

乔木草原 tree steppe
指与干草原（草原）相连接的森林之间的过渡带，是高纬度干燥地区出现的群落。在苏联及北美就有此情况。侵入的乔木有以前者的英国栎（quercu-s robur），和后者的美洲黑栎（quercus velutina）、大果栎（quercus macrocarpa）等为主的栎类，其他还有梣、椴、械、榆、鹅耳枥等类。森林一旦形成，干草原的土壤（黑色土）就呈现湿润化，形成一种灰壤的灰色森林土。此类群落在气候、水分、土壤、植物地理学方面带有森林和草原的中间性质。
