紧张性生活事件(str。ssfu一lif。events)引起应激的心理(认知、情绪和行为少和生理反应的任何生活事件一个产}-活事件对某一具体的人是否属于紧张性事件，方面取决于该事件本身的特点，例如它的可控制性、可预料性或新异性，它是否太强烈、超过人的耐受能力等。另一方面取决十个体本身的一些特点，如他的人格的稳定肚和经验、应付能力的大小、他当时的心身状态、动机，他对生活事件的认识和评价等。此外，遭遇生活事件时一个人周围的环境因素也会影响他对事件的判断和反应，从而决定生活事件是否为“紧张性的”。由于判断个事件是否属于“紧张性的’‘，取次于它是否引起应激反应，而应激反应又是刺激与个体特点间交互作用的结果，所以同一事件对某些人是“紧张性的”，对另一些人则不是。从理论上看，人生中发生的任何事件(哪怕是微不足道的)对某些人都可成为紧张性事件。但实际上，对大多数人来说，只有有限数量的生活事件是属于“紧张性的”。参阅“社会调整评定量表”。 (梁宝勇撰徐俊见审)
