【失效率]投保人不能继续交纳保险费而终止合同(失效合同)数量与合向总数量的比率。’可分为总失效率和保险失效率两种;也可分为总失效与经过年数的失效率。总失效率是失效保额(或件数)与年初有效保额(或有效件数)之比;经过年数的失效率是不同年度的失效保额(或件数)与所观察保额(或件数)当时总额的比值。失效退保多时，不但抵消新合同，使有效合同不能增加，而且要花费大量的经费，影响经营效益;失效率与退保率常常合并为失效退保率。失效退保率越低，表明经营效果越好。
