    　　利用化学迁移反应原理的一种精炼方法，把金属卤化物分解为金属和高价卤化物或分解为混合卤化物。例如TiCl2歧化分解为Ti和TiCl4；TiCl3歧化分解为TiCl2和TiCl4；NbCl3歧化分解为Nb和NbCl5等：

　　同样溴化物和碘化物也产生类似的反应。由于这些反应是可逆的，都可用作金属提纯的手段。目前具有实用价值的歧化反应是利用一氯化铝(AlCl)制取高纯铝。
