| 焦点 focus 理想光学系统主光轴上的一对特殊共轭点。主光轴上与无穷远像点共轭的点称为物方焦点（或第一焦点），记作F；主光轴上与无穷远物点共轭的点称为像方焦点(或第二焦点)，记作F′。根据上述定义，中心在物方焦点的同心光束经光学系统后成为与主光轴平行的平行光束；沿主光轴入射的平行光束经光学系统后成为中心在像方焦点的同心光束。图中画出了薄透镜的物方焦点和像方焦点。凸透镜有实焦点，凹透镜有虚焦点。
