植物形态：多年生草本或亚灌木，高达80厘米。叶对生或轮生，披针形至椭圆形或倒卵形，长5~20毫米，基部渐尖而成短柄，先端短尖，边缘有锯齿。花白色，单生或成对生于叶腋，萼4~5裂，花冠轮状，4裂，雄蕊4枚，子房上位，2室。朔果卵形至球形。 生态分布：产我国南部；多生于城镇及村落附近湿地。 药用部分：全草入药，夏秋采收。 用途：性味甘、凉。能清热利湿。主治感冒发热，肠炎腹泻，脚气水肿，皮肤湿疹，小便不利。用量：5钱~1两。
